Alongside the major research axes defined in the first years of the centre, the CRP - Gabriel Lippmann intends not to ignore the specific requirements of any particular economic sector in the country. That is why it decided to put a team of researchers and engineers in place to assist companies, and more particularly small and medium-sized companies, in targeted research and innovation.

There are many companies active in the automobile sector in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, contacts have been made with the ILEA (Industrie Luxembourgeoise des Equipementiers Automobiles) and an agreement was signed in 2005, leading to the creation of the Research in Equipment for the Automobile industry department (REA).
